The Raw Elements is our mineral jewellery series, named after the chemical elements it's built around: natural minerals left in their original, unaltered state.
Each piece keeps the mineral's natural surface, edges, and internal pattern exactly as they formed — nothing is faceted, smoothed, or reshaped to a uniform standard. A rough edge or an internal fracture line isn't a flaw here; it's evidence of how the mineral actually grew.
Available in 14K gold and 925 silver. The 925 silver version comes with its own chain, ready to wear as a complete necklace. The 14K gold version is sold as a pendant only, made to pair with any 14K gold chain from our Effortless Basic Necklace collection.
Because every natural mineral differs in colour, texture, shape, and internal pattern, no two pieces are ever the same — crafted by our local Dutch goldsmith, so the one you receive won't be repeated.
What to Expect
Every piece we make uses solid 14K gold, 925 silver, or titanium. Gemstones are either lab-grown or natural, and every product page states which, along with the specific mineral's hardness. Across all of it, some light scratching, dulling, or colour change over time is normal. It doesn't mean something's wrong; it means the piece is actually being worn.
Daily Rules
Last on, first off. Put jewelry on after skincare, perfume, and styling products, and take it off before washing your hands, showering, swimming, cleaning, or sleeping — earrings and rings left in overnight are the usual exception, though it's still worth taking them off periodically to clean underneath. Residue from soap, lotion, and skincare builds up in settings, clasps, and posts over time, and it's one of the most common reasons pieces lose their shine.
What to Avoid
Chlorine, bleach, household cleaners, and high-alcohol sanitisers are corrosive to gold alloys and worth avoiding altogether — pools, cleaning products, and hand sanitiser all count. Skip home remedies like toothpaste and baking soda too; both are abrasive enough to scratch a polished surface. High heat and steam are best avoided, especially with gemstone pieces, since heat and sudden temperature changes affect some stones more than others.
If Your Piece Has Gemstones
Not all stones behave the same way. Hardness varies significantly across our collection — from around 5.5 on the Mohs scale for opal up to 10 for diamond — so a cleaning method that's safe for one stone can damage another. Ultrasonic cleaners and chemical dips work for some stones and damage others; check the specific product page, or ask us, before using either. If a setting feels loose or catches on fabric, stop wearing the piece and have it checked before a stone is lost.
Storage
Store each piece separately, with clasps or posts fastened, in a pouch or a lined box rather than loose in a drawer. Chains and bracelets in particular tangle with each other and can scratch against harder stones or settings. When travelling, keep jewelry in a dedicated case rather than loose in a bag.
When to Have It Serviced
Bring a piece in if a clasp feels loose, a prong feels sharp or uneven, a chain kinks or looks stretched, a band has thinned, or a setting shows any movement. Catching these early is what keeps a repair simple rather than urgent.
The sterling silver version comes with a 40 cm chain included. The 14K gold Swiss smoky quartz pendant is sold without a chain — browse our Effortless Basic collection to find one that pairs with it.
Need a different length for the silver chain? Contact us — we'll let you know whether resizing is possible for that particular piece. Custom sizing may carry an additional cost and a longer lead time, and because the piece is made to order, it falls outside our standard 14-day return window.
Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided the piece is unworn, in its original condition, and returned with all original packaging. Return shipping is at the customer's expense unless the item arrives with a manufacturing defect.
Please note that customized pieces, engraved items, and made-to-order or one-of-a-kind mineral designs are final sale by nature.
